Service Drawings
(MEP - Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
Service drawings ensure that the building’s utilities and systems are integrated without interfering with the structural or architectural components.
Mechanical Services (HVAC):
Heating: Design of boiler rooms, radiators, or other heating systems for cold climates.
Ventilation: Design of air ducts, fans, and ventilation shafts to ensure proper air circulation. Placement of air vents and exhausts must be coordinated with the architect to avoid aesthetic issues.
Air Conditioning: Placement of AC units, ducting, and condensers to maintain optimal cooling. It’s important to calculate airflows and choose appropriate systems (centralized vs. split units).
Electrical Services:
Power Distribution: Wiring layouts, power outlets, main switchboards, and distribution panels are planned.
Lighting Layout: Placement of light fixtures (general, accent, and task lighting) to balance aesthetics and functionality.
Backup Power: Design for generator systems, solar power inverters, or UPS, ensuring the building can run essential systems in case of power failure.
Smart Systems: Incorporation of smart home technologies for security, lighting, and automation.
Plumbing Services:
Water Supply: Design of water distribution systems from the main supply, placement of water tanks, piping, and pressure systems.
Drainage: Designing the sewer systems, stormwater drainage, and connection to municipal lines. Includes bathroom/kitchen drainage and ensuring slope requirements for proper flow.
Fixtures and Fittings: Layout of plumbing fixtures such as taps, sinks, toilets, and showers, ensuring they align with architectural and interior designs.
Fire Safety Systems:Placement of fire alarms, extinguishers, smoke detectors, and emergency exits. If required, sprinkler systems or water tanks for firefighting may also be integrated
